Yet another long day, so far.

I didn't find anyone to eat with last night, though. I had checked the cafeteria menu earlier, and I wasn't enthusiastic about it, and neither was anyone else, I'm afraid.

I got together with my buddy Joe and went down to his department to look at his computer and they had donuts from Krispy Kreme, and I ate one of those. I really don't like their glazed product, but the cake donut that I had was pretty damned good... and probably all of the carbs that I needed.

After that, I got called for a rather lengthy procedure, and then I went to bed about 03:00 or so. But not, alas, to sleep, no, my mind had different ideas, heh. I guess that I finally got to sleep around 04:00.

And I wasn't awakened until 08:00 or something like that. I had partially wakened when the sun came up, damn that thing is bright. That was maybe 06:30 or so, but I went right back to sleep, after wondering if I got woke up because the pager went off. I didn't get awake enough to check the pager, though, I figgered that if they wanted me, they'd page me again, and they didn't do that.

Dammitallanyway, how do people get by without ellipses? I've had to delete three so far, and I left one in just 'cause it was the only thing that seemed to work. After all, they aren't *always* bad, right? Just most of the time.

Anyhoo, I did keep fairly busy today, this has been my first real break that has lasted more than a half-hour.

I did go home briefly, I was there five minutes and got paged for a *stat* ER patient. They usually don't do that unless they really mean it, so I didn't get anything done, just turned around and came back. I missed Karen, dammit, she was out doing something, she told me later that she'd only been gone fifteen minutes.

One of the things that I wanted to do was take a shower and renew my deodorant. I accomplished the latter, but not the former. There's a shower in the room, but it's not really much of a shower, but I will avail myself of it tonight. I do have a change of underwear and a fresh shirt, but I'll have to make a quick trip to Walgreens and get some more deodorant and some shaving stuff, which I'm about out of at home anyway.

I didn't remember to take my pills last night until 03:00, and before I came upstairs I took my blood pressure... scared me, it did. 210/114, it was. I need to try to target the evening ones a little closer to 12 hours after I take the morning ones, I think. Right now it's a cool 134/74, which is where my doc likes it, and where I like it too.

I went to Walgreens and got paged. Came back and did the patient and took my shaving stuff up to the room, and got paged again. Did that patient, checked to make sure that the coast was clear, then went up to the room and shaved and showered.

While I was at Walgreens, I decided to buy the new quattro razor, you know, the one that's been doing all of the ads? Well, it's all hype. I did get a good deal on it, though, it came with a free can of gel shaving cream. If you can call buying something that you're disappointed in getting a good deal, anyway.

Just as I was putting on my new Old Spice™ after-shave I got paged again, that was maybe 18:00 or so. Been running ever since, I have. And now my legs are telling me to quit, they are.

I had a piece of coconut cream pie for supper, I'm sure that it had all of the carbs that I'll need tonight. And speaking of carbs and weight loss, I'm continuing to do well in that respect. It's been quite a while since I got up from a meal feeling stuffed, and that's a good thing.

Along those same lines, we got a scale in the mail the other day, to replace the one that we sent in a few weeks ago. Helluva deal, and if I could remember the company name I would give them a link here. Next time I think of it and I'm home I'll do just that. Good American companies should be recognized by good Americans, heh. Seriously.

Speaking of good companies, where does Wal-Mart get off with using illegal aliens, anyways? They're supposed to be the paragons of Good Ol' Americanism, aren't they? Jackasses. They think that we the people won't see through their shoddy greedy ways?

Well, nobody ever lost any money investing in the idea that we the people aren't as dumb as we look. Wait, that didn't read right, but my brain is firing on its last neurons here. What I meant was, there's money to be made pandering to the lowest common denominator, and that number is a lot lower than we want it to be.

Well, crap.

Half of the Americans are below average. There's a lot of power in that knowledge, and power in those numbers. We don't have an IQ test to qualify us for voting or even taking up precious space in this world. Not that I'm saying that we should have... well, yes we should.

Tard of runnin'. Just plain tard. And thinking about another 20 hours of this... well, shit. I'll make it through, though.

Thanx for being here!
