Rather late for me, after a busy day.
I'm at Tyler's house, and his girlfriend is here, and a coupla friends of his are here from Topeka. I still get to sleep in his bed, though.
It is really good to see Tyler and to finally meet his girl friend.
Anyhoo, the day started off better, at least we got there on time. We walked the eight blocks this morning, and got there in time for the first meeting about three people who are in our "community" who have sold books for the print press, and it was excellent. As were the other two, one about the difference between blogs and journals and the other was a reading session, which was very good.
Readings are interesting... the authors reading their own words. In some cases, much like stand-up comedy, or stand-up drama, if there is such a thing. I really liked the ones that I've already read in their on-line journals.
Anyways, we took our swag and left, walked back to the hotel (I'd checked out earlier) and got the car and got on the road.
We had a very nice drive back, got into some very deep philosophical discussions, very enjoyable. I've brought that kid up right, he thinks for himself.
We saw some interesting road kill on the road back... a goat. I've never seen a road-killed goat before, heh. Annette had been cleaning and re-arranging the apartment while we were gone, it looked very nice....
And all of the kids just came in and I completely lost my train of thought, dammit.
Anyway, JD and I had a great time at Journalcom Austin. And... I'm gonna leave these kids and go to bed. JD has also written up some entries for you.
