Well, hell, it's *already* past my bedtime. Slept poorly again last night, dammit. Got up on time, though. Go, Doug! And I went all day. I was in the room today, and it was fairly enjoyable. Until about 14:00, when I went up to a meeting on our changing insurance coverage. Karen has the main insurance, and I have supplemental through the hospital... and there are some big changes, I've been told. Unfortunately, it was standing room only, and I was standing. And my legs started hurting, and my back started hurting, and I said t'hell with it and went back to work, learning absolutely nothing. And they only have the meetings today and Wednesday and Friday, so this was my only opportunity to go. And I'm kinda pissed at their poor planning, holding it in a room that was way too small for the crowd. Really, don't they know how many employees there are? Or what? At any rate, I finished up the day, and then went to the local electronics store to get the jack for the guitar, and they didn't have any. And then I went to Midwest Music, and the guy there rummaged around for a while and found one that worked. So I came home and put the guitar back together, swearing at my soldering gun and my clumsiness, and it worked. It's really nice to not have static every time the guitar is moved, heh. Then we went over to a co-workers who'd just got a computer. I've been on this guy for years to get one, and he finally did. Loaded some software and showed him and his wife how to use it after they'd fed us really good... spaghetti & meat sauce and ice cream and cookies for dessert, along with coffee. More carbs than I needed, especially since I did a no-no with the spaghetti... I had a second helping. Crummy day today, weather-wise... cold, cold rain. For a while, anyway. I'm gonna be hitting the road tomorrow shortly after I get off work, probably get to Enid about 20:00 or 21:00, looking forward to seeing Mom! Updates will be sparse at best during this trip... in other words, don't count on anything for the next week. And now I'm gonna go play on the guitar for a few minutes then hit the sack.
