Arrgh! That's my description of today, in one simple exclamation. Firstly, I didn't get up on time. Not even close. 07:55 it was, and I have to be at work at 08:00. Well, that didn't happen. And I was in the room with patients today, something that I always enjoy. And I did, as usual, enjoy it. But. I can't hardly walk, my legs are so sore. We were busy, busier than usual. Additionally, I decided that today I wouldn't smoke at work. And that was an additional burden, it seemed like. And the hours dragged, dragged. And my legs hurt a bunch starting about mid-day. I had a helluva time getting up from the table at lunch. I came home on time, though (I could not have been persuaded to stay any longer... I had some cigars in the truck!) and found that Matt wanted to borrow a vehicle, since his had conked out Sunday night in our driveway. Transmission gone. Anyway, we let him use the Camry, and after he left I realized that I was supposed to go fix Mike's computer tonight in Lawrence. Well, the truck is not a good road vehicle, so I called Mike and begged off until tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to this trip... for one thing, just not working is going to be nice, and for another thing, I'll get to spend time with JD and with Mom and then with a whole bunch of other neat people in Austin. It's gonna be early early to bed for me tonight, though, I feel like I haven't slept in a week.
And I just got off the phone with Mom, I'm going to go a day earlier than I had planned since I could get another day off... I'll go see her on Tuesday night and leave for Houston wither Wednesday night or early Thursday AM.
