Heh, I had yesterdays' previous entries (in the table below this text) all pointing to todays' previous entries, so I don't have to change anything. Busy day at work... I was on the "Z", and there were three scheduled procedures, but I only got to do one of them, one other was postponed because of lab values being too high, and the third looked like it wasn't going to need to be done when I left, so I don't know what happened there. Anyway, when I got there at 06:45, I found that, besides having a full outpatient schedule, we had seven inpatients. Talk about straining resources... Additionally, the orders for two of the inpatients were wrong... one was ordered accidentally on the wrong patient, which I discovered while talking to the nurse about the prep, the other one because whoever ordered it couldn't read the doc's handwriting... go figger. We usually get a coupla-three of those a week. That's why we check and check and check again. We check to make sure we didn't make an error, we check that the nurse didn't make an error, we check that the doc didn't make an error. Check check check, allatime just checkin'. Like my habit of asking a patient about allergies three times. I don't feel comfortable unless I do that, and sometimes even then it's not enough... I've got a previous entry about that, but I'm too lazy to look it up. In short, I asked the patient three times if she was allergic to anything and was denied three times. Then, just as I was ready to begin the injection, she said, "Is that x-ray dye? I'm *allergic* to x-ray dye!" My friend Lee Ann came over so we could work on Jody's Website... she got here about 18:00 or so, and we had a pleasant evening. Karen fed us, and we did get some work done on the site... it's getting closer to getting done, we're about at the half-way point right now. And it's *way* past bedtime for this bozo... egads, shades of Ronnie!
