Well, OK, BabyBush wants to spend 86 billion *more* on Iraq and Afghanistan, to rebuild their infrastructure. And where, you might ask (but barely dare), "Where is this money coming from?" Well, you can bet your sweet bippy that it's not coming from his rich friends, 'cause they don't have to pay taxes any more hardly. No, it's gonna come from you and me and our children and grandchildren, that's where it's coming from. And where, you might ask (but barely dare), "Where is this money going to?" Why, to Haliberton and their ilk, *that's* where. And why, you might ask (but barely dare), "Why do we need to spend this money?" Why, we need to fight terrorism, *that's* why. And besides that, he's yer president, and he wants it, and it's the patriotic thing to do, that's why. Or, as Ms Rice put it, "You can't put a price on ... security." Y'even notice, when somebody says something like that, the price is coming out of your pocket, not theirs? ARRRRRRRGH! Back to more pleasant things... my life, for instance. I could not get to sleep last night. I thought that I was sleepy enough at 22:00, so I went to bed, but I guess not... I was awake until after 01:00 I did get up on time, though, and my BS was OK. I did well with it over the weekend, I did, I'm proud of me, I am. Work was work... but we were 1.5 techs short, and that's at least 1.25 too many to be gone. One of them was the evening tech, his wife had to have surgery... and that meant that call started at 16:30, and I'm the call guy tonight. I did get to leave at 16:30, though, and one of the diagnostic techs did a coupla heads for me before 17:30, that was nice. Then I got called in to do an exam that finally cancelled, so I went home. And got called again about 20:00 and went in for that, and the night tech that does CTs got there at 21:00 as I was leaving and, barring disasters, I will be able to sleep tonight. I was running the room today, and my old legs are worn out....
