Yet another unfun day.... To start off, I awoke late. As in, I hit the snoozebar from 06:15 until 07:50. And yeah, I am supposed to be at work at 08:00. I called in and got a quick shower and shave and ate a bowl of oatmeal and got there at 08:30. After I got there, it wasn't really too bad... our scheduled patients got there on time, and there weren't too many inpatients, and the ER didn't start getting crazy until the afternoon. The bad news, though... the gal that was supposed to start working weekend nights, one who could also do CTs, quit. Two weeks into the job... she got a better offer from a hospital in Wichita, where she lived. Can't say that I blame her, though. But it means, of course, still more calls. And speaking of calls, I've been getting more calls about traveling, but they all want me to do x-rays too. And I kinda have mixed feelings about that, y'know... doing x-rays is fun, and interesting, and I'm very good at it, and it's also very wearying. And I really don't think that I can stand much more wearying of this old body, y'know? On the other hand, maybe I'm just getting lazier. Well, that's pretty much a fact, I guess, heh. I'm enjoying these few days when Karen is gone... not that I don't miss her, really really bad, but there is so much less commotion around. Not so much that I necessarily dislike commotion, per se, but it's nice to get a rest from it. Anyhoo, I'm right tired tonight, I worked just a little bit later than I was supposed to, but the slate was clean when I left, except for the fact that the ER was full. Tomorrow, I have a 07:00 appointment with the dentist, getting my teeth cleaned and checked. Not something that I look forward too... more harping about the fact that I seldom floss, and practically never do the thing around my bridge. Yep, I *do* brush a coupla-three times a day, and I use the stupid waterpik(™) occasionally... like tonight. Nice weather again today, but the heat is building up again, and I'm yearning for autumn, for various reasons, such as my trip to Austin to meet up with a bunch of neat people... I was delighted to see Renee, who I've met, and Bill Chance, who I've read for years and years ( but not much lately, sorry, Bill) and a whole bunch of other people who are bound to be pretty cool. An additional happiness will be the fact that JD will be going with me! Hopefully, the two of us will egg each other on so that we won't sit in the corner like I did two years ago in Chicago.... I guess that I should end this in the usual way, saying how tard I am and that I need to go to sleep, heh. No pictures for a while. What's up with that? I dunno.
