Home again, home again, it's nice to be home again!

Yesterday evening was nice, I think that I enjoy Karen's reunions as much as she does. I took a lot of pictures of people, and Karen kinda got shanghaiied into organizing a cruise (!!!) for interested classmates for this winter. This sounds like a cruise that I can really get interested in.

Interestingly, I met a guy who grew up in Enid about five blocks west of where I did... we lived at 1730 EastPark, he lived on the 1200 block of East Park. As far as I know, our paths never crossed. He married one of Karen's classmates, and I'm not really sure where they live now. He has a shaved head like me, and philosophically we seem to be at about the same place. He's a smoker, however... but a really nice guy.

Anyway, we had a really good time, and we left about midnight; we sat around chatting with our hosts for another hour, and I couldn't stay awake any longer... on four hours of sleep, I was surprised that I made it as long as I did.

And Vicky, bless her heart, remembered from five years ago that I liked to sleep with a fan, so she sent Karen up to the bedroom with one.

However, it still took me until about 03:30 to get to sleep. No, I don't know why?

And I really really missed the CPAP. I don't know if I snored or not, but my mouth was horrible when I woke up, I'd been breathing through it.

I did have to get up a coupla times to go to the bathroom... the last time about 07:00. Karen came and woke me up at about 09:30 and I came down to breakfast, an excellent quiche that Jack had made. We spent a really pleasant time talking with them until about 13:00, and I found out a lot of things about them that I didn't know... for instance, a radiologist that I had been really fond of who had moved to Parsons shortly after I got out of the army was still alive, and a friend of theirs.

After we left the Martins, we drove around Parsons for a while, Karen reminiscing, and we ran across her ex-husband out working on his house (he buys old houses and works on them and re-selle 'em) and talked to him for quite a while.

Then it was on the road.

We kinda planned to stop at Woodies at Yates center again, we'd stopped for lunch there on the way up yesterday, but they were closed, so we went across the street to Smokey Ben's BAR-B-Q and had an excellent meal there. Karen got the pulled pork sandwich and I decided to get a hamburger (we'd had BBQ the night before at the dance) and it was excellent. I did a carb splurge and got the onion rings, which were excellent too.

So here we are, back in Topeka, and I gotta go in at 07:00 tomorrow, so I need to get in bed.

Thanx for being here!
