Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

I woke up this morning at 03:00 with chest pain. I rolled around a while, did some deep breathing, trying to make it go away, but it didn't. Kept getting worse, more and more pressure. I sat up on the edge of the bed for a coupla minutes, but nothing doing, still hurt a bunch.

By this time I was pretty sure that it wasn't a coronary occlusion, an MI; I would have been in much worse trouble, but probably the same amount of pain. Yep, it hurt bunches.

I went into the bathroom and took two ASA, just in case, but not until I'd taken a double-dose of tums.

In about three minutes it was all over, and I went back to bed and slept the rest of the night symptom-free. Go figger. An esophageal spasm, most likely.

Still, pretty scary, it was.

Work was OK, I was running the room today, always fun. Got off on time.

Kim had met a friend of mine, a security guy at the hospital, online, and it was somehow decided that Karen and I and Kim would meet him at Harrahs, the casino. So we did, and we had dinner at the buffet (and I was very good with the food there) and then Karen did a little gambling, losing her money pretty quickly. I fed the slots about $10, and then Karen gave me another $10 to play on the dollar machines and I did it by deuces, losing it in five pulls. Well, pushes. Pretty efficient, heh.

It amazes me to see all of those people throwing their money away. Do they really work to make that money just to throw it away? Or do they beg it off of their friends and relatives?

Anyway... we left about 21:30 after listening to their band for about a half-hour... the band was OK, I guess, they did a pretty good mix of songs.

And it's past my bedtime already, dammit.
