Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Site of the day:http://www.votetoimpeach.org. And then read this NY Times link... and now I don't have to write a political rant today!

Today at work... well, it's not getting any better.

A good part of the problem is that now, since we are filmless... we don't routinely print films. However, there are plenty of docs who are demanding films, so we have to supply them. This had become almost a full-time job keeping up with this, expecially since there's only one computer that we can use to print films with... and it's also in constant use for two other purposes.

And I had a helluva time getting up this morning. I got up at about 04:30 to go pee, and I noticed lightning, but I didn't hear the rain that started just a little later... we got about a half-inch with the first round, and a total of maybe three inches altogether.

I had eaten breakfast and I was ready to walk out the front door when I noticed a sound in the kitchen. Investigating what sounded like the dishwasher running, I realized that there was rain pounding on the skylight. I couldn't find an umbrella, so I threw a jacket over my head to get out to the truck. It poured all the way to work, I'm happy to report. We really do need the rain, and it's been missing us with regularity lately.

My brother the reformed electrician informed me that 14 ga wire won't do but 15 amps; well, I misspoke, I don't have 14 ga, but 12 ga copper, which will do 20? Anyhoo, I bought a 30 amp breaker, which I won't use, but I'll replace the 20 amp one that's in there, since it's a weakling.

I spent about an hour tonight with my glucometer... it saves all of the readings in memory, so theoretically I could enter every reading that I've ever done into a database in my Glucopad on the PPC... but I just put in the last month, it's pretty tedious work. And it doesn't really matter, I'll just start building up history starting now... well, I put in all of June's readings.

Anyway, I'd lost the book that came with the meter, but they've got an on-line site that pretty well covered all of the questions that I had, like how to set the clock, how to do the control strips, stuff like that. I had to buy more strips over the weekend and I couldn't remember what I had to change... so now I'm set for the next coupla months.

My plan is to be in bed by 21:00 tonight. Sleep, sleep, wonderful sleep!
