Riiiiight! Full Speed Ahead, indeed! And that's pretty much what happened today. I awoke about an hour earlier that I was planning on, but I went to sleep pretty early too, so that explains that. I decided to try an experiment last night... reading in bed with the PocketPC. And it works really well... put me to sleep in about five minutes. However, I didn't *really* go to sleep until Karen came to bed and rubbed my back for me... that was about 23:00. Yep, I spent two hours not sleeping but not being conscious. No, I don't really understand that either. My back was just as bad when I got up as it was when I went to bed, but I decided to just grit my teeth and go on anyway. And I made it through the day just fine... well, maybe not really *fine*, but I made it through the day, and that's what counts, heh? I had none of the really intense pain, and I really think that moving around was probably good for me, even though it was mostly painful. So that's what I need to do... bull through the pain and quit being such a pansy about it. I got off at 16:30 and came home to Karen... she sure is enjoying not working! She fixed some two-inch-thick pork chops for supper, grilled 'em on the Jenn-Aire and damn they were good. And she had mixed greens and onions and potatoes for vegetables. It seems And I always eat exactly the same thing for breakfast every morning, work or no... I really like oatmeal. Anyways, after supper I told Karen that I wanted to go for a walk with her, 'bout knocked her socks off... we walked about a mile and a half, I guess, and that was about as much as I could do... and I need to do at least that much every night. And I got some more toys in the mail today, I'd ordered some pieces for the computers... extra memory on the P4, went up to a gig there... some fans, a multifunction transfer panel, a linksys 22MBS wireless router and PC card... I got the memory in already, but the rest of the stuff needs to wait until I can clean this damned desk off so's I'll have some place to work! O'yeah, today's picture is from the walk, I took a bunch of flower pictures but this is the only one that turned out OK. Click the little one for a big one, of course. In the Mail: On the shelf:
that I can just barely make it through the afternoon when I eat at the hospital... I buy about $5 worth of salad, and it takes me a full half-hour to eat it (I'm not very good lunch company any more - no time for conversation!) and then by about 14:30 I'm famished.
