For some stupid reason or another, I set my alarm clock this morning. For 06:30. And then I hit the snooze bar until 09:00. My appointment to see the PA was at 10:00, and we got there right on time. She did a pretty good spinal pain evaluation, being nicer than the average doc in that respect. Most of the other docs seem to enjoy the straight-leg raising, the sadists. This lady was pretty gentle, only raising the right leg enough to se the response... about 10° did it just fine. So, I got the pills that I needed to get through this. Spacy. And, of course, I'm still hurting, but I don't really care all that much about that. Hydrocodone... works well, but it makes me itch all over, kinda creepy. And then the flexeril, the muscle relaxer, and finally, the vioxx, an anti-inflammatory. She said that I should be able to go back to work by Friday, but that I should call her if I didn't think that I could. I hoping that I can. Did I mention that I was kinda spacy? The meds do that to me. I'm not supposed to be operating heavy machinery, or probably keyboards. Karen and I finally watched Shakespeare in Love, I really enjoyed it. I'm not gonna write much about it, 'cause, y'know, I'm pretty spacy right now, and I expect that I will be for a coupla days. Denver Doug offered a suggestion on fixing the cabinets, using pony clamps, which are pipe clamps. I've got about a dozen, buy the problem is that they're too long. And the flaw in my thinking about it? I have a hacksaw. Those pipes can be just as short as I want them to be. Of course, I need to have a much less fuzzy head to do this.... Mom's computer was giving her problems again... username/password type of thing. It was doing this before Karen and I visited last time, and I set her up with a new password, one that we could remember. Well, she didn't, and I didn't either. And I wasn't even doing drugs. Bookworm is my current favorite game. 1787950 is my current (and best) score... I love word games. The first edition of bookworm would recognize slang and raunchy words, but evidently some preacher got to them, and the current edition rejects the common four-letter words. O'well, life goes on. Have I mentioned that the pain pills are working? Really well? In fact, I think that I'll go take a nap and enjoy the effects. Good. Very good. Excellent, in fact. In the Mail: On the shelf:
