Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

And here we are at today... today being Tuesday, the last day of this mini-vacation.

We got up pretty late, around 10:00... ate breakfast ... what else? I can't remember... O'yeah, I de-crudded a coupla faucet-strainers for mom, and put the AC in the upstairs bedroom window. Then we kinda got packed up, ready to go.

I forgot to mention last night that Mom had told us that my niece Cathy had called, and would be visiting Mom and aunt Bea and uncle Don this week. I'm gonna see if I can't get down to Enid and see her and her fiancee while she's here, but it's gonna be tricky getting off another weekend here so soon.

So, we got off around noon, and when we stopped for gas, Karen got some Krispy-Creme donuts at the gas station. And I have to admit, I really don't know what the attraction is to these carbohydrate conglomerations. Maybe my palate has been restructured lately or something, but all I can really say about them is "Yeeechhhh!" Well, that was *after* I'd eaten one. Why are we humans so self-destructive, anyways? Later on I ate another one. Sickening. Sweet. Actually, I pretty much had the same opinion *before* I'd learned that I was diabetic.

Yes, I do realize that I am an intelligent guy who does stupid things.

And speaking of stupid, whaddayou think of this head? And do you know how hard that it's going to be to shave in the morning?

Anyhoo, it's really nice to be home. We made good time, running into some light rain along the way, and I passed a highway patrolman going seven miles over the limit and spent a while sweating about that until I slowed down and he passed me... I thought for sure I was gonna see some red lights there. I usually go about two miles over the limit, I just set the cruise control for that, but I hadn't set the cruise yet since we'd just pulled out of a rest stop. Lucky, I was. And actually, I think that they really look for the guys doing 20 MPH over the limit, there are plenty of them around.

Thanx for being here!
