Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

16:45 5/11/2003

I got up about 08:30 this morning, after a rather unrestful night... the last dream that I had was about a guy who had been chasing me through these old buildings... he finally caught me and, as we stood facing each other, exhausted, he served me with papers repossessing all of my belongings.

I had had several other similar dreams during the night, I think....

Anyways, Ric made breakfast for Debbie (and everyone else), ham and pancakes with banannas and walnuts, it was excellent... I really restrained myself and only had two pancakes. My BS was only 106 this morning, which makes me happy.

I've not been losing weight very fast lately, and I think that it's because I'm not exercising. And I keep saying that I'm gonna start, but I never do, dammitall anyways.

We got a late start from Wichita, and go into Enid about 13:30 or so. Mom is looking good, and, as usual, we interrupted her nap. Then she decided that she wanted to get a hamburger at Braum's, which was quite OK with Karen and I... a hamburger, shake and fries from there adds up to about 70 carbs.

We did a bunch of sightseeing after lunch, me doing some reminiscing about my most embarrassing moments in my young life... the first, the Indian who threw me into his teepee when my cousin Olin and I were peeking under the back of the tent. The guy actually picked me up by the seat of my pants and the scruff of my neck... I was maybe nine or ten at the time.

The second occasion I was again with cousin Olin... I don't think that this is a coincidence, actually... we were at a wrestling match and we were yelling at the bad guy, and the bad guy jumped out of the ring and threatened me with a folding chair. That was the last wrestling match that I ever went to, incidentally.

We also went out to the memorial for vets with Enid connections at the airport... yes, Enid has an airport! They almost always have had... anyway, the memorial was very nice, my name was there, as was my brother's and my father's and my uncle's. Once again, if you click on the pictures, you will get a huge picture...

Anyway, we went home and started with wondering what we were going to have for supper. And Karen decided to take a nap... nono, Karen doesn't take naps, she just spent an hour or so resting her eyes. Or two, maybe.

So, much later, Karen and I went to the store and got salad stuff and sandwich stuff and we had lots of stuff for supper.

Sometime in there, I offered to put up the drapes in the newly-painted bathroom. Mistake... *big* mistake. The "gathers" were wrong, so we had to figger out how to make them right. We got it figgered out after a few false starts. Looks good now.

And now, time for me to go to bed...

Thanx for being here!
