Well, I got more sleep than I was anticipating last night... I didn't get called until midnight, and that was a kinda false alarm... they were trying to resuscitate the patient when I got there, so the exam got cancelled. I came back home and got called about a half-hour later and I was there until about 04:30 with a variety of exams on a variety of patients. Surprisingly, it was mostly medical patients... Saturday nights are notorious for violence, as I remember well from my many nights of doing x-rays on drunks. One nice thing about being called in in the middle of the night... I get to visit with a lot of old friends that I never get to see any more. I miss them all, dammit. Anyway, I was back in bed at 05:00, and I asked Karen to wake me up before 09:00, 'cause I had three inpatients to do. Well, Karen happened to waken at 08:30 and woke me up, so I got dressed and went on in. One of the patients cancelled, but I kept getting add-ons all day long. Still, I only got a coupla patients from the Emergency Department. Weird weekend. I did get to go home a coupla times, and the last time that I got called in was about 17:00, and I got back at 18:00 or so. Everyone was just sitting down to eat... all of Karen's kids were here, and half of the grandkids, and Andy has a new girlfriend with a coupla-three kids too, seemed like a really nice girl. So anyhoo, I ate and was relatively sociable, then I came into my room and hid. As usual. I am getting less tolerant of social turbulence... people coming and going incessantly just makes me nervous. So I hide. And now I'm fed and everyone has gone home and I'm ready to get into bed shortly, and it hasn't been a bad weekend at all. The lady who's covering my call for the rest of the night is one that I have a lot of confidence in, and the only way that I'll get a call is if the main machine goes down and we have to go to the backup... and that is always a disaster. And so we head into the week relatively rested, heh. In the Mail: On the shelf:
