Natterings, Notions

Notes

Nothing like a good day at work to set me back on the straight and narrow, heh.

And it was an interesting day, but something happened that wa absolutely hilarious, and it wasn't so medical that I couldn't write about it here...

But, dammit, I have forgotten what it was. I am so ashamed!

Anyway, I apologized to Kim... this was part of what made my weekend miserable, knowing that I was wrong and not really wanting to admit it. I hate it when I do that, but I just. never. learn.

Well, maybe I do... after all, it's now a rare occurrence, it used to be a *lot* more frequent.

I was supposed to get a phone call interview tonight at 17:00 with a recruiter in New York, we set it up for 17:00 because she was going to get a root canal done at 15:00. I asked her several times if that was really gonna work and she laughed. I even asked her if she'd ever had a root canal done, and she laughed, saying that it surely wasn't going to be *that* bad, that she couldn't get back to work in an hour.

Needless to say, I was not surprised that she didn't call. Karen and I left at 17:30 to get something to eat, and there was nothing on the answering machine when we got back. I'll hear from her tomorrow when the drugs wear off.

We got the appraisal back on the house today, and I was pleasantly surprised, it's actually worth more than we owe on it! By a bunch, thus the surprise.

Of course, an appraisal doesn't really mean all that much, but it gives us a lot better idea about where we stand financially.

Meaning that I can quit worrying so much.

I'm on call tonight, and the evening guy was not feeling well and he was talking about going home early, but I haven't got a call yet so I guess that didn't happen. I do hope that I can make it through the night... last night was almost a complete no-sleeper for me, I was looking at the damned clock every half-hour at the very least. I can't do that two nights in a row, dammit, I'm too old for that! Luckily, I *do* continue getting older, and that's a *good* thing.

Today's picture is Tyler and me about a month ago... coupla good-lookin' guys, heh.

Movies Today:
  • John Q

  • Pretty good movie, although most, if not all, of the medical stuff was bogus. Don't they hire real doctors to watch over them so they don't screw stuff up? Can't they find a coupla who are *sober*, then?

Anyway, aside from that, it had all of the good stuff that a good movie has to have... good guys, bad guys, a cop with a heart... and a kinda believable plot. All in all, an enjoyable waste of time.
