Today was a pretty amazing day at work... when I printed out the schedule, there were over 40 exams on it. That's *scheduled* exams, which generally has not much to do with what actually happens, it's just the tip of the iceburg. Well, that's a pretty horrendous schedule. And I was the runner today, too. The amazing thing, though, is that it wasn't a bad day at all. Everything clicked pretty well, and I got to leave right on time. My legs are doing OK, too. I did get a scare when I got home, though... Karen was gone, and both TVs were on, and the makings of a salad were sitting on the counter, looking abandoned. This concerned me, 'cause Monday, Karen told me about a guy who stopped by and knocked on the door, asking for $23. The main things that she remembered about him was that he I got Karen to call the cops about him yesterday, the more that I thought about it, the worrieder I got. I think that she was glad that she called, after the fact. She had gone to a dinner on Wednesday with a bunch of BC/BS retired ladies, and she'd told them the story, and one of them said that some guy was doing that in her neighborhood. Red pickup truck. So I was thinking panicky thoughts, but Karen came home soon after I got home... she'd gone to Kim's to borrow a grater for carrots. We've got the grandkids (Patrick and Lacee) until Saturday morning, when Steve's dad will be picking them up. Kim will be gone until Tuesday, so the kids will be back here Sunday night again. And Karen is going to Parsons on Saturday and coming back on Sunday, so I should have the house to myself from noon Saturday until Sunday evening. I'll probably sleep a lot, heh. In the Mail: On the shelf:
was driving a red pickup and he had on a baseball cap. He said that he was a neighbor (not true) and that he needed money for something.... he got locked out of his house. He stopped because he saw that the door was open. She gave him $25 and he left, promising to come pay it back. He wasn't threatening or anything, but....
