I did get to bed early last night, and then I got to sleep past 08:30, and that was all cool. I got called in about noon, and I've been there off and on all day. Had a pretty major trauma come in, a kid... his grandma was killed in the wreck, and he was flown to KC, I hope that he makes it OK. The ER was fairly quiet when I left about 22:00, I sure do hope that it stays that way. Eh, about that war... I'm coming around to thinking that we're doing the right thing for the wrong reasons. Saddam needs killing, not because he's a threat to us, 'cause he But... the simple fact is, by starting this was against Saddam, we're doing exactly the same thing that we're accusing him of doing... ignoring the UN. Um. It took me a long time to figger that one out. Additionally, instead of just half of the muslim nations being against us, they now *all* are. Osama is getting a lot of recruits, he is. And the USA is losing face all over the place, because we've got a vengeful idiot for a president, and because we don't seem to be doing anything to get rid of him. impeachthepresident.com is for sale for the paltry sum of $288 US. Regardless of the rightness or wrongness of the war, we do need to support the people who are fighting it for us, for they are only following orders. Just like that jackass Ollie North, who is now a correspondent with CNN or someone. Why would someone like that hire someone like him, a confessed liar and, some say, a traitor to his country? Who knows? Money, probably. Of course, if Ollie was a traitor, then his boss was too. Of course, that's all been forgotten by now.... But I'm getting off of my subject here... which was war, and peace, and free love and marital happiness. Or was that martial happiness? War is bad, most people agree. All of the wrong people get killed for all of the wrong reasons, but the winners get to write the history books, making it seem like only the right people got killed for perfectly proper reasons. Well, it ain't so. Nobody deserves to die just 'cause they're in the wrong place at the wrong time, even if the *are* the wrong people. Some wars are more necessary than others, though. Like WWII was pretty necessary. VietNam wasn't. The Gulf war? Who knows? Probably was. This one? No. But, now that we're committed, we have to go all the way with it, and do it right. That means actually killing Saddam (and his sons), not losing him, like BabyBush's last target. Well, OK, it's almost 23:00, and I'm still awake, but not for long. Wouldn't it be nice if I could get some sleep? In the Mail: On the shelf:
isn't, and never was... but because he's an asshole and he kills his own people. Everybody deserves to live in a democracy... if they want to. They deserve the choice, and we should help them out with that.
