Up *way* too early today, and I stayed up way too late last night. Work tomorrow at 07:00, so I need to get to bed before too long, 05:30 is early in the morning. Karen and I went grocery shopping today, and boy, did I get discouraged. One of the things that we learned in class last Thursday night was how to read labels on foodstuffs. And to think, I was eating all that crap for years and years and liking it! Like most people, I never really thought much about what I ate, all it needed to do was to assuage my hunger. Then I stopped smoking, and I discovered that food tastes good. Well, shit. You know what happened then... I got fat and diabetic, and now I know that all of the food that tastes good tastes good because of the carbohydrates and the fats! Both of which will kill me if I'm not careful, dammit. Of course, I need to exercise, so I can burn those carbohydrates off, that would help a lot, right? But I can't seem to get going on that part. We got Karen a new keyboard and mouse today, ones that match her new monitor. They're really pretty, but not I can't get the damned computer to work... I wonder, if I did a search on this site, how many times those words would show up? Anyhoo, I didn't bother to turn off the machine before I plugged the new keyboard and mousie in... I've never had a problem doing that, but I have read that you shouldn't do it. From now on, I will turn it off, just so that won't be in the back of my mind that that's possibly the cause of the problem. On the other hand, this particular machine has been solid since the day I installed it, more than two years ago, so it's due to give me some trouble. Eh, I think that I'll sleep on it, see if it'll cure itself if it's given a night of rest? An excellent oldie, I just love Goldie. Ingrid Bergman, I think that I love her too. But mostly Goldie. Lotsa laughs, and I needed some laughs. In the Mail: On the shelf:
