Natterings, Notions

Notes

Eh, another day, another dollar.

Had a not-very-busy day at work, and then Karen and I went to learn all about diabetic diets. All common-sense stuff, counting carbs mostly... and the most important thing, spreading them out over the day. Carbs are turned into sugar pretty rapidly, and by evening the load up, a pancreas that isn't up to par can still do its job without a problem.

And I have been bad about checking my blood sugar. Horrible, in fact, since I haven't checked it since the class last week. I'll start checking it twice a day, starting tomorrow.

Yes, I will.

Being tard makes me forget things, and I have a tendency to forget things in the best of times anyways. And being hungry makes me tired, too. And being awake makes me hungry and tired.

So i guess that the only way to avoid being hungry and/or tired is being dead... not a good trade-off.

Back to the diet thing... 2000 calories a day is pretty healthy. 255 grams of carbohydrates, 75 for each meal and 15 each for an afternoon snack and an evening snack.

I've lost about another five pounds in the last coupla weeks, I really need to get a scale and see what I'm doing there, I'm just mostly going by how I feel. And how my clothes seem to fit.

So far, I've managed to avoid eating any candy bars. Man, that is hard. I have lived on candy bars for all of my life pert near, you know? Candy. Chocolate, man I love chocolate.

I did eat some girl scout cookies today, though. Thin mints... that's not even good chocolate, but I ate a few of them anyway.

Tomorrow is Friday, and I'm happy about that. It's been almost two weeks since I had a day off, not counting yesterday, since that was a sick day. I need to do some relaxing.
