Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Well, any day that starts off at 03:44, you just know that it's gonna suck.

Yep, 03:44 it was. 04:44 on the east coast, and the clock on my white noise generator is still set for there from my trip to brother Dan's, I've just never set it back.

So, I decided to stay up when I got home about an hour later, then fifteen minutes after that I decided to go to bed, so I did that, and I was almost asleep when the alarm went off and I realized how stupid that was.

I got to work about 15 minutes early and the phone was ringing, so I answered it and clocked in. I just didn't feel like talking to anyone on my own time, dammit.

And right at 07:00, one of the 08:00 guys called in sick or something. He didn't specifically say that he was sick, just that he wasn't coming in. SOB better have been sick, though.

And the late guy, he had asked for the day off for personal reasons.

As you can tell, this is building up to being a bad news day.

Well, the guy that called in was supposed to be doing the biopsies, and we had two, so i was the next one in line to do those. And I don't mind doing them, in fact I *like* doing them, but they are such time sinks... probably average two hours per patient, if you're lucky.

And I was pretty lucky, even though I had to work with a doc that I really don't like for the first one. I had good patients, though, and that always makes for a big difference.

And I started fading about noon, really bad.

I did take off at 15:45, though, just 15 minutes past my eight hours...

On the way home, I passed Lacee on her bike, coming to our house... she'd forgotten her key. And Drew was here when I got home too, waiting for Andy to come pick him up.

And right now, it's 18:03, and I need to get this done and up and take my pills and then Karen has promised me a leg rub and a back rub and I'll be off in la-la land for about eleven hours....
