Primates often have trouble imagining a universe not run by an angry alpha male. - Source unknown This was a particularly nasty Monday. First off, I got up. Weird dreams, me running around in my underwear sort of dreams. Nobody would throw me a towel, even. I got to work about 7:50 and the other tech who came in at 07:00 tells me that he's sick and he'll be going home shortly. And then he tells me that the *other* other tech is not coming in 'cause her daughter just had a baby. So, it's just me and the other 08:00 tech until about 10:30 when one of the diagnostic techs comes over and runs the console for us. And we were busy! Monday, of course. The 12:30 tech came in and things worked OK for a while there, but then the other 08:00 tech had to leave to get a CT scan at the other hospital... he's on his wife's policy. So, it was a no-lunch day, but I did leave 15 minutes early, just 'cause I wanted to get outta there. However, all in all, it could've been much, much worse. OK, a change of subject here. Fearmongering. The intimidation of a nation. Slowly, even artfully, convincing 90% of the population that only *big Brother* can protect them. Protect them from things that only *big Brother* has made up. Selling them on the *fact* that Iraq is our enemy, while only a year ago it was the Taliban and Al Qeda. Meanwhile, the Taliban and Al Qeda have been downgraded. They're not in the news any more. Hmmm. Maybe 'cause that whole thing was a failure? Because we couldn't get the big fish? So, why are the Bushy-boys doing this? Simple... to make us not notice when our constitution is wracked and broken. To make us cheer when the lashes come down on our backs and the shackles are chained to our legs. Will we never learn? Unfettered power will always, always corrupt. The constitution limits the power of any one of the three branches of government. And the constitution is in grave danger. It may be but a brave footnote to our history. It may be a brave footnote even now. The Repiglican Senator from Nebraska owns a goodly portion of the company that owns... the voting machines that got him elected. His election in 1996 was a surprise to most people who know politics. Quinky-dink? I think not.http://bestoftheblogs.com/2003_02_05_bestof.html#90279110 Hmmm... seems that *most* of the voting machine companies are owned, in large part, by right-wing religious people. People who have publicly stated that they want our US of A to be a theocracy. And there were people who told me that I was fulla sh!t when I said that BabyBush was gonna ruin this country. Hah! I say, Hah! While I still can, I say, Hah! In the Mail:
