I'm making progress... I only hit the snooze bar once this morning! And work wasn't really too bad for a while. We got fed free pizza for lunch, 'cause the sales rep for the CT and MRI machines was having some big shots in for a site visit. We actually had time to sit down and eat and chat with the prospective buyers. Shortly after lunch, we blew an x-ray tube on the main machine. Lucky for the salesman, they had all just left about 15 minutes before that happened. Yeah, everyone knows that tubes blow, but it doesn't make a good impression on people who are interested in buying the product. Then, seemingly instantly, we were behind by four patients, and none of the patients were happy, and we had to do them on the old, slow machine that's way over on the other side of the hospital from everything. I spent the first hour answering the phone and then one of the other techs left and I let the phone worry about itself, I was too busy running back and forth. Another hour of overtime that I didn't want. I finally left when the backlog was taken care of and there were no prospective patients in the wings.... Hopefully, they'll get the tube in and running by the time that I get there tomorrow. If they don't, it will be a very unhappy day. Karen seems to be doing better, she's been on a more powerful antibiotic for a coupla days now, it must be working... she fixed chicken-fried steak with potatoes and gravy and spinach for supper, excellent, and we watched Dr. Akin (of the Akin's diet fame)(and that's probably spelled wrong) while we ate. He makes a lot more sense than I remembered.... of course, the last time I listened to him, I wasn't a tub of lard, heh. Excellent, excellent! Laughed until I cried, and then I cried some too.
