Nilknarf News

Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Heh. For fun (my reason for almost everything that I do) I looked up "nilknarf" on dictionary.com. It told me "No entry found for nilknarf. 2 suggestions found: nihilism; nolo contendere" both of which, especially when taken together, pretty much describe nilknarf. Heh again.

Karen is still feeling pretty crummy but slightly better, I think. And I slept until 11:30 this morning, and I feel pretty good.

Of course, when you get up at 11:30, the afternoon and evening come on pretty quick. Patrick called and I went to get him he had a new movie, Signs, which I'd read a number of bad reviews on from my atheist friends. It really wasn't as bad as they made it out to be, though, but there were some logical inconsistencies in it that were pretty atrocious... for instance, in one scene, they were nailing boards across a door to keep the monsters out, but they had just came in the door... and it swung the other way! Stupid, stupid, stupid!

In other news, I have finally decided to release my idea of the scenario of the woman with child who is missing in CA.

  • The wife discovers the husband has a girl friend.
  • He comes home on the 23rd and is confronted.
  • He kills the wife sometime during the night, probably smothering her (bloodless!)
  • He stashes her body in the fishing boat, along with some weighting material.
  • He "goes fishing" and dumps her body in the bay.
  • He comes home and calls the cops.
  • He plays the innocent until the whole thing unravels, which is happening now.

Am I the only one who gets sick of the media circuses that build up around these atrocities? You know that there are similar crimes happening on a daily basis, some of them in your very own neighborhoods, but they don't get the publicity. Ever wonder why? It's 'cause there is only so much headline space, and that's it. And they gotta save *some* room for the a***ole in the white house, heh.

Movies Today:
  • Signs

  • Patrick called today and wanted to know if we wanted to watch this movie with him, and I went over to pick him up. The movie was pretty silly, with all kinds of incongruencies, but the most glaring (to me) was that the main character was supposed to be an atheist, when all he did was hate his god. Atheists, not having gods, *can't* hate something that they don't believe in. And the premise of the alien defeat was damned silly too.
