Natterings, Notions

Notes

Weird day again, for different reasons.

I got up about 07:00, and Karen was packed and ready to go. Andy was supposed to be here at 07:00, and it was his call saying that he would be late that woke me up....

He got here a little later, and Karen was off to KC and New Orleans and beyond....

She called from the KCI airport, but I haven't heard from her since then.

So OK, here's the weird part... I didn't get called in to the hospital until 15:00!

There weren't any patients that the on-board staff couldn't handle until then.

Weekends lately have been pretty hellish, or at least busy, but this one isn't holding to that pattern. In a way, I'm OK with that, but I had planned on making *some* money....

I did go in just twice, and the night tech that came on at 21:00 will not call me except for a disaster. But it is, after all, Saturday night.

So I finished watching K-pax this afternoon and then I watched the Full Monte this evening, see below for quick reviews.

I'm saving Clerks for tomorrow.

I was pretty good with what I ate today. It's damned hard, it is. It's a lot like quitting smoking... it has to go on forever, or it really doesn't count. That's hard, hard, hard... just like the world, dammit.

I haven't had a pic for a while, this one kinda sets the mood....

Movies Today:
  • K-Pax

  • and
  • The Full Monte

  • K-Pax - not at all what I was expecting, and very, very good. I was prepared to be disappointed in the ending, but I wasn't.
  • The Full Monte - Another excellent movie. I had trouble with the accents at first, but I got into the groove about half-way through. I thought about going back and watching the first part again, but I decided against it. I really enjoyed this movie, too.
  • My movie-picking luck is holding quite well, I haven't watched a stinker yet. Or at least, I don't think so. But, after all, I'm me, so what would you expect? I may not know movies, but I know what I like. Well, I *think* that I know what I like, but I could be wrong, heh.

    In the Mail:

    On the shelf:

    • The Warriors
