Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Weird day for me... I started waking up at 04:00, but I didn't get out of bed until 05:45. I remembered to not eat and I went in to get my blood work done. Unfortunately, I forgot to not pee....

So it was about 10:00 before I could get them a urine sample.

Of course, as soon as the lady drew the blood I was in the cafeteria, I got two big doughnuts... a bad choice, as always. I frequently make bad food choices... more on that later.

Work was pretty hectic off and on, but not too bad. About 11:00 I saw one of the ultrasound ladies and asked her who would be doing my leg studies tomorrow... and she consulted with her cohorts and decided that they would do it today... in fact, right now! They had some slack in their schedule, I guess.

Well, it isn't too often that a lady makes me cry, but damn! those blood pressure cuffs were tight! I was surprised to look down and see my legs still there at the end of the exam....

Yes, I did have tears in my eyes. I didn't scream, though... some of their patients scream, I was told. It *was* a close thing.

Anyway, the pressures came out all right... nothing significant. That's good, in a way, but bad in another. What that means is... it's probably unfixable.

But wait! Dr. Murphy mentioned a newer drug that was great for problems just like mine. I'll probably get back with him sometime next week.

Because he's gonna want to talk to me about the lab tests, which were not good. The triglycerides were at 555... way, way *WAY* too high. Supposed to be below 120. At one time, they were up over 1700, so I guess that I've improved from that, anyway.

And I am taking meds specifically to lower the triglycerides. I need to help them out, I guess....

Sweet stuff. Candy, cake, pie, candy, candy, candy... all the stuff that makes life worth living... no. Scratch that last, there are other things that make life worth living, I think.

I need to majorly change my eating habits, or I'm a-gonna have another coronary.

And, speaking of coronaries....

My sister-in-law Lynn, Dan's wife, had emergency bypass surgery last night. She's doing well, according to Dan, and she'll be home this weekend. Isn't that amazing!

What's amazing is... Lynn is the very picture of health. No smoking ever, trim and fit... but with bad genes, from what Dan said.

I wonder what her triglycerides are?

I'm really glad that she's doing well now. That is a scary experience. I've had the coronaries, but never the surgery... always been able to avoid that chest-cracker. So far.

So, I'm gonna try to get to bed early again tonight... this sleep deprivation is getting to me.

Thanx for being here!
