Yet *another* crummy night sleeping... this is getting tiresome, isn't it? Business is picking up now from the holidays, getting back to normal schedules finally. This is a good thing, from a job security standpoint, but a bad thing if you're my back. Actually, you probably wouldn't want to be my back under any circumstances, and I wouldn't blame you at all for feeling that way. I skipped lunch and went to my doctor appointment at 13:00 and I seem to be doing pretty well. I'm going to stop taking the BP medicine that has a tiny bit of sulfa in it (hydrochlorothiazide), with the idea that it might be causing the rash on my forearms... in the meantime, I need to keep a close watch on my BP. The doc also thought that I should lose 50 pounds or so and try to live a more active lifestyle, but he did give me kudos for continuing to not smoke. And I need to get lab tests done, and he wants to do ultrasounds on my legs to see if maybe an angiogram/ballooning might be feasible. He thinks that most of the problem may be functional... some disease in the legs and some reduced cardiac output, resulting in functional claudication without any frank lesions. In other words, live with it. It was a beautiful day here, with the high about 75°F, like a really nice spring day. Tomorrow the high will be around 40°F... and I didn't really get a chance to enjoy it much. Karen was gone when I came home, and I thought about taking a nap, but before I did she showed up with an old friend in tow, a lady that she'd worked with years ago who had moved to OK city. Her daughter is still in town, so she visits occasionally... Karen and her have made plans for some visiting. Her husband Bob is a guitar player and we had played together a coupla times years ago, so I'm looking forward to that. I'm planning on getting the labs done in the morning, but I have to be fasting for 12 (12!) hours beforehand, and dammit, I'm already starting to get hungry. I hope that I don't get up and eat first thing in the morning like I usually do... I'll have to put a note on the milk carton, I guess. And it's already time to get to sleep... I have to fix my CPAP first, I broke it last night tossing and turning, some way or another it came off and got between me and the siderail on the bed... no, it's not a hospital bed, it's a waterbed, and it does have siderails.... Nothin.... In the Mail: On the shelf:
