Natterings, Notions

Notes

I didn't get to bed until after midnight last night, and then I slept until about 10:30, so I won't be able to get to sleep tonight on time, I'm sure. Dumb-dumb-dumb, dammit.

Karen is still not feeling very perky, so we pretty much stayed put again today... I did take a coupla rental movies back and I got a free rental coupon for the one that didn't work, no problem at all. We watched parts of football games and pieces of the news, and she drowsed in front of the TV whilst I browsed the web.

Pretty mild weather here for a January, it got up to about 55°F today, but there was a pretty good wind and the wind chill factor was probably about freezing... but that didn't keep my from wearing my sandals to Hastings when I took back the movies.

I have almost quit reading the newspaper except for the funnies or watching news on TV lately... I can watch CNN for a coupla minutes at a time, and FOX for about 30 seconds... BabyBush is all over the place, it seems, trying to make war sound like such a f***ing reasonable thing.

It ain't, no matter how many times he says it is, no matter how many millions of barrels of oil his cronies will get out of it.

And then there are his extended tax cuts for the rich people...

Yeah, I can't stand to watch it, and I really can't stand to talk about it, and I hate the fact that so many seemingly intelligent people are buying it hook, line and sinker. Reminds me a lot of religion.

Yeah, I shouldn't get so worked up so close to bedtime, heh. Or at all, it's not like i can *do* anything about it, heh? One man, one vote. Well, unless a Bushie is controlling the polls. Bah.

Back to work tomorrow. Again, bah.

Movies Today:
Lord of the rings: the Fellowship of the Rings

Good flick, Karen even enjoyed it, even though she's not read the books. Me, it's been 30 years probably, and I really didn't have any trouble keeping up with the story. Maybe the time lapse is a good thing, I didn't have to compare the movie to the book, I could just enjoy it. And I did, and now I'm looking forward to seeing the second and third ones.

On the shelf:

  • The Warriors

Thanx for being here!
