Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Well, now I really feel bad about the whining that I did in the last paragraph of yesterday's entry. Thank you, thank you all for those cards and letters! That'll probably keep me going for another year!

Yet another crummy night sleeping. Well, first off, I went to bed about 19:00, just wanting to shut the world out, you know how that is, right? That didn't work at all, at all. However, about 21:00 I was almost asleep and the phone rang... it was work, and some jackass doctor wanted some arcane image manipulation done on a case from last Friday, of all things.

Well, once I get woke up, that usually ruins things for me, but not this time. In fact, it kinda allowed me to focus and mentally fry the aforementioned physician, and then everything was kinda better. However, I was awake every two hours throughout the night anyway.

Banging on the snooze bar this morning pretty hard for a half-hour and then flew to work. No snow here at all, but Mom in Enid got 12"! The same storm is going to be moving into New England tomorrow....

Not a bad day at work, I was doing biopsies today, did two that worked pretty well. I got done with the second one about 12:30 and then I got sent home.

Which was OK with me, but I didn't really have anything to do, and Karen was out running errands by the time I got home, so I decided to take a nap.

Well, you'd'a thunk that I could go right to sleep, but of course not. Karen and Lacee got home around 15:30 or so, so I got up and helped with the xmas preparations. Well, not really, but I did try to not get in the way, at least.

20:10...
Well, the big part of the evening is over, the kids all have their presents and Drew is whining about having to go to his mothers. It's time for them to all leave, I firmly believe.

And I go on call in ten minutes.

I think that there is someone there tonight to do CTs, but starting at 07:00 tomorrow until 07:00 Thursday, it'll just be yours truly holding the fort down. At time-and-a-half, of course.

Actually, I just checked in, there's nobody to do CTs from now until 23:00, so there's a chance that I'll get called in tonight anyways. However, my best doc is on in the ER, so that might work out OK anyways.

The *real* meaning of xmas is that your grandkids will take all of your batteries and you will be bereft, DC-wise. Even the ones that you keep in the freezer that you thought were safe. Nothing is safe, nothing is sacred, and that's the way it should be, I guess.

Thanx for being here!
