So I decided to check out my past years entries on this date (somebody's gotta do it!) and found that I talk about depression frequently this time of the year. Which might be interesting, but I'll bet that almost any date that you could pick a couple of entries would be about being depressed. However, I'm much better now. I got a good long sleep last night, about 12 hours, and that has muchly improved my outlook on things. Had a pretty laid-back day... I sorted out all of the clothes that I'm giving to Goodwill tomorrow, about a hundred shirts, some of them that I really love... all too small. When I do get smaller, I will happily buy new favorite shirts, I will. That doesn't seem to be happening, though, I seem to have lost the resolve to quit making a pig of myself. I'll get it back, I hope. Karen and I went to Outback tonight and I got the usual steak, but I purposely only ate half of it, bringing the other half home. Karen got the salmon, and she only ate about half of hers too, so we'll have a nice meal with the leftovers tomorrow. And then, when we got home, Karen discovered that she had left her purse under the table at the restaurant, so we went back, and sure enough, it was still there. We're happy about that! Karen started to wrap some presents when we finally got home for good, and she went to the basement to get some paper... and came back with the report that there was water at the foot of the stairs. Sure enough, the sewer had backed up again. I spent about 30 minutes with the 3/4 " tape and finally got it open again with a lot of pounding. Some day, I won't be able to get it open. I hope that we can replace it before that happens, 'cause it's inevitable. Orangeberg pipe, and it's the last one in the neighborhood to go.... Anyway, my back wasn't really doing too well before that, and it's a bunch worse now, so I'm gonna get Karen to beat on me again, that really helps, I think. Well, it didn't really help very much, but it felt good while she was doing it. I also found a muscle relaxer that wasn't outdated, so that might help too.... although it will probably make me goofy. Goofier. Goofiest. Hmmm, it's working already, it is! Tomorrow I'll haul stuff out to goodwill, most of the shirts are longsleeved and there are a few sweaters in there too, and it's the season for long sleeves and sweaters. Now I need to get Karen to work on her side... I almost said her side of the closet, but she doesn't have a side, she's got two closets and I have one (and a small one, at that!), so that would've been inaccurate. I strive for accuracy here, y'know. Howsabout that Trent Lott, heh? Finally did part of the right thing, but I guess that he'll wait for the good citizens of Mississippi to vote him out of office. Autumnal equinox, heh. Old man winter makes his entrance, just as BabyBush cuts heating assistance programs. Yeah, he's an asshole, ain't he? Although it's odd that he doesn't want his oil/energy buddies to get that government money. Hard to 'splain that one, heh, Lucy? Tomorrow, as always, will be a better day.
