A sleepless night followed by... what else... a rotten day. Sleepless night... caused by, uh, not sleeping. Actually, I think that it was the pizza... we had pizza from Valentino's, I have to try it every few years to see if it still makes me sick. Yep, it sure does. But this time wasn't as bad as the last time, at least. I didn't have to vomit or anything, just felt bad. And I was awakened by Karen at 06:15... the kitten was missing. I got up and came into the computer room, and the window was open. Callie has discovered that she can make the counterbalanced window open by thumping on it, and that way she doesn't have to wait for someone to let her out. Well, Lucky discovered the window open.... Lucky is a strictly indoors cat, that was the agreement between Karen and I, lucky had no say in the matter. And she went out the window, in the middle of the night... her first, and hopefully only, trip into the big, evil world. I went ahead and went to work, while Karen waited around for daylight in the hopes that Lucky would live up to her name. Karen finally called me at work sometime before 09:00... Lucky had been hiding underneath the back deck, and she finally came out. So... she was lucky this time. Work... was hell, pretty much. Busybusybusy, sick, sick people, and lots of them. The schedule was full with outpatients, but everyone in the damned hospital had to have a CT scan today too... I think that we set a record. I was running the room today, took a short lunch and stayed over an hour until most of the stuff was caught up. My legs are about to fall off and my back is killing me, and I'll probably go to bed here shortly. I have to go in at 07:00 tomorrow, and the day looks as dismal as today was, the schedule is full and frequently double-booked, and so is Monday. Usta be, long ago, that everything in a hospital slowed down for the holidays... but I'm dating myself, that was over 20 years ago. I still have fond memories....
