Well, I am pretty much blown away by my grand-nieces... and by my niece, too. And her husband. All of them. I got up after Dan knocked on the door at about 08:00, and we fiddle-farted around until about 11:00, working on his web-site. Then we left for Mt Airy, with Dan driving and Lynn in the passenger seat and me in the back... neither Dan nor Lynn can ride in back seats without being nauseated, whereas I really enjoy the luxury of being driven, no matter where I'm sitting. When we got to Terry & Glens' house, we went in briefly and the twins got to open their birthday presents... Hannah got a really nice dragon puppet, and Emily got a Lava Lamp... both big hits. We then went out to eat, where Glen, Dan and I maintained a conversation separate from that of the females, much to my dismay. It just seemed to naturally work out that way. Don't get me wrong, Dan and Glen are both interesting conversationalists, and it was very enjoyable. I was covertly watching the twins out of the corner of my eye most of the time, of course, and I was very impressed by them. Hannah seems a little shy, and Emily is pretty outgoing, and they are both delightful. It was a long ride home, but it was filled with good conversation, as this whole vacation has been. In fact, I have relaxed more in the last week than I have in the last five years. I really like that in a vacation! But yes, it comes to an end, it does. The long drive back to Kansas, the work world at the end of the drive... Ah, but there is also Karen at the end of the drive... sweet, sweet Karen, how I yearn for her arms.... O'yeah, and my water bed, too... my nice warm comforting water bed! I just tried calling Karen, but she's not at home, waiting for my call, and I need to get to sleep now for a while before I hit the road.... The next update will be sometime Monday night, of course, from Topeka.
