Dateline: Dunbar, West Virginia
I didn't quite get up on time, I hit the snooze alarm once, not too bad, considering that I'd had a hard time going to sleep, wondering what I was going to forget.
So far, I've only discovered one thing... a camera.
I was on the road by 03:45, and when I got to St. Louis I had to make a decision: I-70 or I-64. Whilst I was pondering, I wound up on I-64.
Between KC and St, Louis, I saw three recently killed deer, and then a car in the ditch that had obviously killed a deer. My luck continues, deer-wise, I didn't even see a live one.
Sometime between St. Louis and Louisville, it started raining, and it got worse the further east I came. Miserable driving for the last half of the day. I did do a smart thing, though... I called ahead and reserved a room.
Not much else to say about the drive... 810 miles it was, that's a pretty good day's drive.
So, while I was driving, I was thinking. About world peace, of course. What the world needs is a bunch of wise men that all come to power all over the world at the same time. My generation has quite obviously blown it (BabyBush and his ilk) and there doesn't seem to be anyone from the next generation willing to step up....
I'm using the DeLorme Street Atlas to get Lynn's directions in my head so I won't get lost. I find that this program is better'n the MapQuest.com one.
I just remembered, this is the 13th anniversary of my first coronary. Gravy, all gravy.
