Yes indeedy, I got off early, and I have been busybusybusy! Got my CDs ready to go, got my maps (I still don't know which way I'll go, I'll see which way the breeze blows me...) and I'll have my clothes packed shortly. I want to get to bed around 19:00, and I'll set my alarm for 03:00. At which time, I'll get up, make coffee, load the car and skeedaddle on outta Kansas. Raining here today, and I'll probably run into quita a bit of that on my way, I'll probably stay just behind the front that will be going up the coast. The only time that might be a problem is if it's snowing in the mountains, and that still probably won't be a problem. Driving in the rain, well, it's a bit more strenuous, and it'll make me slow down, too, so I might take the whole two days to get there... but as it is, I should get to West Virginia before I pull over. Back in the days when it was 55MPH the best that I could do was Louisville, KY. Karen got me a cell phone when she went out today, the number is (785)640-3600. She got one just like hers, and since everything was the same, she got a really good deal on it. We have talked about completely cutting the land-line umbilical, but we just don't have enough guts to do that yet. Maybe soon.... 17:14... Anyhoo, don't count on frequent updates from DC, just be patient, they'll get there. I will, as usually, be writing this tripe on a daily basis, I just won't be posting it daily. Or maybe I will, heh. You need to get on the reminder list if you're really interested in knowing the exact time that I update. Although I can't remember if the laptop is OK to post notifications, and I've already got it packed away. But I'll do my best. Karen went to pick up Lacee at the bus stop, and Kim is coming to pick her up in a while. They are all three going to KC tomorrow to celebrate Kim's birthday, just like they do every year.
