Natterings, Notions

Notes

I have remembered to change my "Yesterday" tag about ten days in a row now, that's gotta be some kinda record for me... I'm proud of myself.

Woke up this morning OK, but the arthritis in my left hand and knees is really bothering me. This is not something that I bitch about regularly... quite simply because it doesn't really hurt all that much very often. If I did, you may rest assured that I would bitch about it. I've actually got a pretty high tolerance for pain, at least for the kind that I'm used to, mostly srthritic changes in my spine that I've had for years and years. It's just something that's there and I know that it's never going to go away. A lot like George Bush, come to think of it....

Last night I called Kim and left a message on her machine for her to call me, I wanted to take karen and her out to eat. Well, she didn't call back until after 21:00 or so, and by the time I got around to telling Karen I wanted to take her out she was in the midst of fixing supper.

So anyway, we went out to eat tonight, Karen and Kim and Lacee and me. Went to Outback, natch, and had a good meal and a good time, Lacee pretty well behaved herself, although it was touch-and-go there for a while. Our server's name was Arrow, and he had a brother named Bow... we all got a kick out of that, especially Lacee.

Work today was... well, work. Not bad, not good. Did an exam on an old doc that I used to work with, a guy who used his size to intimidate... how the mighty have fallen. Poor guy has to use a cane to walk, and there is nothing intimidating about him at all now.

I did wear my dangly jack-o-lantern earring in today, amused all of the girls and the guys think that it's gutsy to wear such a thing and the old ladies just laugh. All in all, a fun thing. I'll wear it again tomorrow, then put it up for another year. Or maybe I'll wear it on thanxgiving, it would be semi-appropriate, wouldn't it?

Semi-appropriate is close enough for me most of the time.

So, I'm pretty well set to visit my brother in Maryland in November, and I also hope to see Lynda maybe while I'm there so close... I better let her know that I'm gonna be in the area, heh.... I'm really looking forward to seeing Dan, it's been a coupla years and that's way too long... I was kinda hoping that Tyler could go with me, but I haven't heard back from him yet....

Thirty-some-odd years ago, I went to a halloween party that the x-ray departments in town put on. The costume judge was Phil Sisk, a radiologist that I greatly admired who just recently died. Anyway, he gave me first prize and told me that I was the best hobo that he'd ever seen. Weird that I should remember that...

I was going to work this weekend in X-ray, but I found out that the main room in the ED was going to be out of service, and I decided to pass on the OT... I'm on call, anyway, for CT. But I knew that doing that much running would kill my legs. Been there, done that, for short periods. Reminds me of why I quit doing third shift, just thinking about it.

Bedtime for this bozo.

Thanx for being here!
