I got up fairly early this morning, and Mom was already up... she'd baked some bubble-bread with pecans, and delicious stuff it is, too.Pretty much like cinnamon rolls only different. After we ate, I went upstairs and took the air conditioner out of the window and packed stuff up... carried Mom's sewing machine downstairs for her.... I'd taken a bath last night before I went to sleep. I'm beginning to enjoy baths more, it's a nice, leisurely method of getting clean... but I never take them at home, in fact I can never remember taking a bath in the house that we've lived in for eighteen years. I've given lots of kids and dogs and cats baths in the tub here, though. Earlier, I'd watched a program about the Oklahoma Governor's race, it seemed a lot more interesting than the one that we're having here in Kansas... they've got an independent running pretty close. Plus they're voting on whether or not to make cock-fighting illegal. A lot more fun than Kansas politics. Then I got interested in the Dallas Cowboy's football game, Emmett Smith broke the all-time rushing record... I didn't get to see that, I realized that watching a football game wasn't getting me any closer to Topeka, dammit. So I left about 13:00 and drove hard most of the way home, I got here a little after 17:00. I'd made quite a few pit stops... drinking coffee causes that. It was aleastat misting most of the way, and in some places it was raining steadily. Karen was glad to see me, I hadn't talked to her since yesterday so she was somewhat surprised when I got home. And it's good to be home, it always is, even when I've had a nice time elsewhere. And I did have a good time with Mom, of course. But I'm looking forward to laying down in my nice cozy waterbed with Karen....
