Natterings, Notions

Notes

Pretty crummy day at work... we've gotten used to not running, and that didn't work today... we had to run, and we ran in circles, I'm afraid.

Part of the problem is that none of us are really very organized... and we're all males. This might sound sexist, but I really work better with females than I do with males. The only female in the department now works part-time, so she isn't really an influence in the afternoons, when we need someone with organizational abilities. And maybe it isn't the fact that we're males, but that we're not organized people, we each kinda get off on our own little tangents and don't really work as a cohesive unit.

Anyway, it makes getting stuff done really hard sometimes. We always get done OK, but it's just a lot more hassle.

Karen had the car gassed up and she'd gone to the bank for me, so all I had to do was throw my pills and my clothes in a bag and head out, and I was on the road by 17:00.

The traffic wasnb't bad at all, and I listened to CDs on the way down after KANU got out of range. And I realized that I haven't spent nearly enough time listening to Pink Floyd, I need to devote several years to them.

Actually, I've listened to them a lot, but not in the car on a trip... the car has an excellent sound system (like I would know, heh?) and it's just a lot different than listening to them on the stock computer speakers that I have at home. I really should invest a few dollars on a good amp and speakers. Well, I've got some, come to think of it, I just need to get them hooked up.

I'm just way too lazy.

It was a pretty nice trip, no rain, really, but cloudy all of the way down. The trees were pretty in some places. The sun came out briefly a coupla times.

Anyway, I stopped and ate at the Conestoga, at the intersection of US60 and I-35. I found out why they were closed that last time I was through here... their roof blew off. And now they've gort a new roof, and they've got a 24-hour Trucker's Chapel! I was going to peek my head in but I didn't. I did pay with a $10 bill with "In God We Trust" scratched out, though.

Suddenly very tard, I think that the day is catching up with me.

Thanx for being here!
