Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Normally before i start an entry, I re-read the entry from the day before, and then sometimes I use something that I had said the day before as a jumping-off point, so sometimes if you are reading the entry cold, it's hard to understand, and I must apologize for that,

On the other hand, many of my entries are hard to understand because I'm a complicated person, and like any well-oiled piece of fine machinery, my mind has major breakdowns, especially when confronted with complications.

Anyways, yesterday I stated the I wisht that the sniper would be caught, and lo! he was. So today I'm going to wish for world peace, how about that?

So, the guy's a muslim convert, what a surprise?

I have been accused on being hard on xians, and I am, and I never was hard on muslims 'cause I didn't really know anything about them. Well, I am learning, and I don't like what I'm seeing here.

Well, people say, it's not really the muslims, they're nice people, it's the fundamentalist muslims that are dangerous. Islam is a peaceful religion.

And my reply is "peaceful, my ass!".

The trouble with all religions is that they think that they're right, and everyone else is going to hell. Or some form of hell, or whatever. All religions teach love your brother, as long as that brother thinks exactly like you, and if he doesn't, it's OK to kill him, he makes the world unclean with his presence anyway.

Ah, but then why don't all religions constantly fight and kill? Why just only occasionally?

Ah, Grasshopper, it's a matter of politics. They won't kill until they think that they can get away with it. Then watch the bullets fly and the machetes do their work.

Yeah, cynicism is a terminal disease.

So, to return to the subject at hand... do people who just pay lip service to religion just to get along, are they guilty too? Are the "good" people who allow the fundamentalists to have their way going to get to go to their version of heaven? Or are they relegated to their version of hell for not being zealots? And does that really matter to me, an unbeliever in either heaven or hell?

Yeah, it does matter, 'cause the ones who don't protest the fundies give them strength with their silence... silence to a fundie is implied approval, after all.

Yeah, I know that it's harsh to paint everyone with the same brush, but I don't really know where to draw the lines. And I'm getting absolutely no help at all.

But I have figgered out that people who kill indescrimately don't care about me or my opinions... and most of those people are religious nuts. And the most recent ones are Muslim nuts.

And then there's those 700 hostages in Moscow, being held by the muslims there. That news has been overwhelmed here by the sniper coverage so far, and will continue to be until the hostage-takers start their killing....

So OK, enough of that. Rain all day today, just like yesterday and most likely just like tomorrow. Didn't get enough sleep. Didn't have to work very hard, got off on time. Regular day.

Tomorrow I'll be heading for Enid, I'm not sure if Karen is coming with me or not, she has the day off tomorrow, so I won't know until I get off.

And I need to remember that I've got a dentist's appointment on Monday at 15:00... get my last crown. Well, I wish that it was my last, but it is the last molar crown that's replacing a filling. So I guess that it's the end of the last filling... the metallic ones, anyway, I've got a few of the ceramic ones, of course.

Thanx for being here!
