Thought for the day: There is not a shred of evidence that life is serious. I said that, sometime in the dim past, and I even wrote it down in these pages. I didn't get called this morning until about 10:00, but I got a really sucky sleep last night, and I got up at 06:00 because I was tired of not sleeping. So I had Y'know, not so far in the past, I usta really enjoy reading the Sunday paper. Now all I really read is the funnies, the front page and the Best Buy ads. Did I ever really like reading the paper from front to back, or is that one of those false memories, planted there by aliens for some dastardly purpose? Them aliens are weird fellers all right. Yesterday... yesterday was Li'l Annette's birthday too, along with Tyler's! And I forgot it again, dammit, shame on me! Happy belated birthday, Annette... please forgive me... again. So, I was at work until about noon, and I came home and met Karen... was here for about 30 minutes and I got called again. I knew that I had a coupla house patients to do, but the ER started getting busy on me too... so I was busy clear up until 18:00. We had a kid, 15 years old, come in with a fractured spine. Off-road motorcycle wreck. Sad, sad thing for him and his family. Some days it's really hard to just keep going, you just want to sit down and cry... but you can't, there's the next patient to think about. And you thank your lucky stars that your kids are OK.... Gotta get to bed early tonight, I hope that I don't get called in any more. Very tired from lack of sleep and working too hard all day long, plus I have to go in early next week... starting tomorrow. And we're gonna be running a tech short all week, which is no fun at all, I have the feeling that there are gonna be a lot of tired days strung together.
time to make and mostly drink a pot of decaffe while I read parts of the paper.
