Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

I do not believe in supernatural events of any kind, no "True" skeptic does. Jinxes are supernatural events... as ar thaulus, but we won't get into that, will we? No, I thought not!

I had one helluva time getting to sleep last night, I was looking at the clock until well after 01:00. Was it something that I ate? No, it was something that I said... I made the statement that I don't have trouble going to sleep any more.

Possibly I would have had trouble even if I hadn't said that, in fact, that's most likely. But we humans like to find patterns in things, so that they make sense... even when they make no sense whatsoever. After all, that's how we got religion and other quaint and dangerous superstitions.

On a different subject altogether, but much in keeping with the theme of my life... damn, I lost my train of thought there. How appropriate, heh?

Superstition. Usually an interesting thing to discuss with theists. They think that they aren't, and laugh at other people's superstitions. I am usually too amused to continue discussions of this nature... well, I've never had the opportunity, after a short while they refuse to talk to me at all.

Often when doing CTs, we discover something in an area of the anatomy that we weren't really asked to look at specifically, like discovering a metastatic lung lesion when we're asked to do an examination for a renal stone. A case like that is not amusing at all, of course... but today we had one that was interesting and thought-provoking.

A broken wire in a bra. An underwire bra, of course. Which led to a great deal of speculation. Just how *does* a lady break an underwire, anyway, huh? Also brought up the old L.S.M.F.T., which many will recall, meant "Lucky Strike Makes Fine Tobacco" or maybe, "Loose Straps Mean Floppy Tits".

Today was busy, which was OK; I did have to run a lot and my legs are really sore, though. Good for me, right? And Karen and I went to the Y tonight for the first time in a long time, we need to start making that more regularly.

Once again, a beautiful day here... I think that the hurricane is sucking all of the moisture way down south and leaving us with nice crisp cool days. Looks like JD and Tyler are going to be missed this time, they're probably disappointed about that. It's OK, guys, there will be other storms for you!

I cannot let BabyBush's gaffe today go unheralded in these pages. He is dumber than even I thought he was... I think that he got away from his handlers or something. *He's* concerned about the security of the Americans, but the senate isn't. Heh.

I think that it should be a rule that presidents are elected from the ranks of congress.

Dayam! I can't believe that I said that!

It must be past my bedtime.

I think that I'll run for president. I need to start collecting money, and I guess that I should start with you guys. PayPay works well, go right ahead!

Thanx for being here!
