Natterings, Notions

Notes

I went to bed early last night, but i *still* had a bitch of a time getting out of bed this morning. It was so bad that I forgot to kiss Karen goodbye!

Which reminds me of a story. When I worked nights, Karen and I would often go several days without really seeing each other. Once, after a several day separation, I was arriving home just as she was leaving, in fact she was down the block a ways. Lisa was with her, and they were both working at BS/BC at the time. Anyway, when we saw each other, we both pulled over and jumped out of our vehicles and met in the middle of the street for a passionate embrace and kiss... then we got back in our vehicles and went our separate ways. Really impressed Lisa and several passers-by!

Today was not a fun day at work... only one fun thing happened. So I'll tell about the fun thing, and just forget the rest.

I was the runner today, and I went out to the waiting room to get a patient. I called her name out and she got up and we started walking towards the CT waiting area. As usual, I introduced myself, and she said, "I know, I remember you from last year!" She seemed happy enough about it, so I told her that it was nice to be remembered fondly. She then told me that she had never had anyone else... ever... hit her vein the first time, and I did last year!

Well, crap, there's nothing like having to live up to a good reputation. If you hit the vein, you were expected to, and if you miss you're a dog who just had one good day, as far as the patient is concerned.

Anyways, long story short, I hit her the first time, but she was really impressed. But it was really hard... and, of course, there probably won't be a next time... not for her and me, anyway.

22:06...
Karen rented a movie tonight, "Vanilla Sky", and we just finished watching it. Weird, but interesting. However, it has kept me up past my bedtime, dammit.

On the other hand, maybe part of my problem lately has been that I'm getting too much sleep? I've heard that's possible, though I hardly can give that idea credence... I mean, that's like too much sex, or too much fudge, or too much money, y'know? It just don't happen for regular people like me. Or probably you, either.

I had a call on the machine from my job people, they got my paperwork and they'll be calling me! Yes, I am excited, how could you tell???

O'yeah, I went out to Sears tonight after work to get the saw that was on sale... well, they didn't have it so they gave me one the next step up for $30 off, making it the same price. And then I came home and didn't even open it up...

OK, *way* past my bedtime!

Thanx for being here!
