I am excited today. Really, really excited! I found out that there is going to be no, repeat, *NO*, computer job at the hospital in the near future. That means that I'm stuck where I'm at, doing CTs. Boring, heh? But the actual fact is, I'm *NOT* stuck. In fact, I've *been* stuck, and now I'm free! FREE! FREE! FREE! So I came home tonight and called a tech placement agency, the ones that do temp tech placements. I liked what I heard, liked it a lot. Karen and I have been talking a lot about this lately, and she loves the idea of travelling around... there are so many places to go, so many places! And there are jobs to be had damned near anywhere you want to go. And, in addition to very handsome wages, there is a per diem and stipends for transportation and housing. And a 401K, and insurance, and... and... and... Did I mention that I'm excited? What I'm not very excited about is the fact that the AC has gone blooie. Yep, blooie. No fan, it's frozen up, and not moving any air, either. So there goes a coupla-three hundred, probably what I earned on Saturday and more. But tonight it's not really so bad, we'll crank on the attic fan and be OK, I think. So anyway, I'm trying to get my resume together, I've never really seriously done one, so I'll need to get some advice about it, if anyone is interested in a critique I'll post it up. I know nothing about resumes, and it probably shows.... Ah, I'll post it up anyways, it's http://nilknarf.net/resume.html It's really weird, having something like this to look forward to. I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to chicken out on this. I've already talked to my department director and my former supervisor, and I'll talk to my immediate supervisor tomorrow, he was busy today. I'm trying to figger out how to take my computers and everything that I'll need... Karen can't come until after the first of the year when she retires, and I can live pretty cheap by myself, I think. The big decision... where to go to? So many places! New York? DC area? Houston area? Baton Rouge? Minneapolis? Chicago? Oregon? California? North Carolina? Colorado Springs? Phoenix? Seattle? Wherever I go, there will be some online journallers there to show me the town, I'm sure... I can't wait to get started!
