But I did get called, just as I laid down my sleepy head. I went in for about an hour, then came home and slept the rest of the night. And today was just a repeat of every other day this week, except I left fifteen minutes early. Extremely busy, short one tech. Run Run Run my legs off. Then I came home to financial woes. I bought a pager last May or something like that, and I couldn't think of any reason to renew it, so I didn't. Well, come to find out, they have an automatic renewal clause in the f**g fine print. So, since I didn't tell them that I didn't want their service any more, I have to pay for it. Financial woes isn't really the right word for it, it's only like 25 bucks, but it's the principle of the thing. Financial frustration. Greedy people figgering out how to get more money. So I called their toll-free number and the lady on the line wasn't much help, so I asked to speak to her supervisor. After fifteen minutes on hold, I hung up and searched for them on line and sent an e-mail. I'm sure that several people were watching the line, making bets on how long this sucker would stay on hold before the a**h*e hung up. Surprisingly, I got a return on my email in less than an hour. The guy at Verizon essentially told me that I didn't read the fine print, and that most of their customers did not want their pagers turned off at the end of the year. Well, OK, where does that leave me, a customer who did? SOL, of course. Read the Fine Print, heh. My last email to him stated that I would not be using their services again, and that I would bad-mouth them every chance that I got. I don't think that's illegal, is it? O'yeah, when I said that this whole thing sounded illegal, like the book clubs and record clubs sending books or records when they aren't specifically *not* ordered, and that I thought it was at the very least unethical, his reply was that it was legal. He didn't mention the ethical part... so, I should automatically take that as agreement on his part that it *IS* unethical, heh? I really don't like dealing with situations like this, and I go out of my way to avoid them. Anyway. We're keeping the kitten. Yeah, I caved. Well, it *IS* cute. Speaking of Lacee, she hurt her arm at school today, and I think that she might have a minor greenstick fracture of her radius... it's tender and there's a slight lump there on the bone, and her radial head (at the elbow) is really tender too. There doesn't appear to be any displacement though, and it doesn't seem to bother her a whole lot. If it still hurts her tomorrow, she probably should go in to see a doc, but I'll bet that she doesn't. The mechanism of injury is really not one that would normally yield a fracture... she bent it way back hitting a soccer ball with her hand. Could happen, though, just seems unlikely. Kids' bones are pretty resilient. Well, it's almost 21:00, and I think that I'll go to bed and hope that I don't get called tonight....
