Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

24 AUGUST 2002

21:11...

Pretty laid-back day. I didn't get up until about 09:00. Mom, on her eighty-fifth birthday, had already been out for her walk and eaten her breakfast.

We pretty much did nothing until mom fixed lunch, grilled chicken breasts and jello with pineapple and carrots and onions and a fresh cucumber in vinegar. Good stuff, so we both decided to take a short nap.

So I slept from about 13:00 until 15:30. When I came downstairs, brother Jon was on the phone, so I got to talk to him a little bit too. He had to leave rather precipitously because Lynn had spotted an oriole in their yard... orioles are apparently not emdemic to the area.

To celebrate Mom's birthday, we went out to eat at her favorite place, we got there before the rush. After that, we stopped by the Dollar Store and she got some cleaning supplies. I hadn't been in one of those stores for years, lots and lots of junk, some of it pretty cool.

I talked to Karen a little while ago, her mother is doing OK, it's just that the doc in the ER put her cast on too tight Wednesday night and of course her arm swelled up and was quite painful until they sawed the original cast off.

And now we're watching Robin Williams in Ms. Doubtfire. I'm not really getting into it, but I guess that I'll give it a chance before I give up on it and go to bed.

Thanx for being here!
