Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

No internet access this evening, I guess that I'm not too worried, I haven't even called Cox to see what's going on... they'll get it fixed eventually.

And now, as promised yesterday, the text of the rev's message:

From: Rev. Bassdude (BASSDUDE9) 2:31 pm
To: Donna (MOMENT52) (2 of 14)
20046.2 in reply to 20046.1

But that's okay since we're (the U.S.) at WAR

War on terrorism

War on drugs,

WAR, WAR, WAR! Citizens were killed by. . ..well, by SOMEONE and by Gawd, we're at WAR!

WAR WAR WAR WAR!!!!!

WE'RE AT WAR! WAR I TELL YA, AND THE SKY IS FALLING AND WE'RE AT WAR!

(uh, excuse, me - Congress has not declared war. . .)

SHUT UP, YOU EVIL ATHEIST! WE'RE AT WAR AND WE NEED TO DO WHATEVER WE CAN TO SUPPORT THE pRESIDENT IN CHIEF!!! WHAT ARE YA, A GODLESS COMMIE?!?!??!!?

(well then, who are at "war" with?)

THE EVILDOERS!!!!! THOSE WHO, WELL. . DO EVIL! EEEEEVVVVIIILLLLL!!!!

(so who, exactly, are the "evil doers"?)

ANYONE WHO WE SAY IS!!!

BWAH HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

(but that's absurd - you can't identify a sovereign nation as being responsible for the 9-11 attack, although you tried to and the number one "evil doer" Osama has yet to be captured - in fact, we're not even bothering to go after him anymore. and what does Iraq have to do with the events last year?)

COMMIE! COMMIE! GODLESS, FILTHY COMMIE! IN GOD WE TRUST! UNDER GOD! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND F*CK THE REST OF THE WORLD!!!!

I didn't mention that I was on call last night because I didn't think that it was important. And it wasn't, not until 23:55 when the phone rang. I went in and did one patient and then came home, got back about 01:00. Didn't get back to sleep until 03:00 though, dammit.

And today was busy, up until about 15:45, and I saw the opportunity to leave 45 minutes early and I was out the door.

And the day was pleasant, weather-wise, probably about 86F or so. We'd been watching the radar all day, ther were some pretty good storms that made it about 15 miles west of here then died... just fell apart and went away. Really disappointing, that was.

Karen only worked a half-day today, and she left to go to Lawrence to get Brian shortly after I got home. Brian will be here tonight, then he'll spend the rest of the weekend with Matt. He goes back to school next week, while the kids here in Topeka have one more week off.

I remember with fondness my summers off when I was a kid, it seemed like they were endless. The ones that I really enjoyed were in Enid in '57 or '58, I think, where I had a season pass to Champlain swimming pool. Yeah.

I'm trying to stay up to the normal hour tonight, hopefully last night won't screw up my sleep patterns. And since I couldn't get on the web, I read The CIAs Book of Dirty Tricks. Interesting reading, but nothing that I hadn't heard (read) before....

Todays' picture was taken about two years ago, when I was skinny....

Thanx for being here!
