Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Not a better day, not a worse day, just another day with the bowels from hell.

Weirdly, I can almost sleep all night pain-free. I don't understand that, but I guess that peristalsis stops when you sleep, heh? That would explain it.

Karen got really ambitious today and worked on the kitchen most of the afternoon. Earlier, we'd gone out to Lowes and got two shuttered blinds for the kitchen windows. Four inches too short, of course. So I went back and got the right size, but they only had one in the right size, we'll have to order another one, I guess, it doesn't show that size in their on-line store either....

With my luck, I got the last one available in that size in the United States.

So, I got that put up, it looks really nice. Then I got ambitious and partially fixed the wooden mini-blind in the bathroom, one of the cords had frayed so it couldn't be raised or lowered, and I replaced that, but the tilting mechanism for the slats is toast. It's been that way for ten years, all you have to do is run your hand up or down it to let the light in or to close it, so no big deal there.

Karen and I watched Larry Kind, his interview with Rod Steiger from '97 or so. Rod was talking about depression, and he said, "If it wasn't for my wonderful wife, I'd be dead right now!" and I say, "Hey, Rod, you *ARE* dead right now!" and Karen thought that I was being crude. Sometimes I'm the only one in the world that appreciates my humor. After all, it's not like he could hear me or anything like that.

Speaking of people hearing stuff, I read that Ted Williams was an atheist. And he wanted to be burned.

Speaking of atheists, Donahue is coming back on MSNBC, everyone knows that, right? He's a straight shooter and he'll provide a good alternative to that jackass on Fox and Chung on CNN.

First thing in the AM I'm calling the doc. We'll see what happens.

Thanx for being here!
