Well, crap, it's Saturday morning already... Horrible day, Friday was, I'm glad that it's over. This entry will be short and sweet.... short, 'cause I'm deathly tard, and sweet, 'cause *all* of my words are sweet. My mamma done tole me (da DUM!), when I was a baby (da DUM!)... Make sure, my boy, keep your words sweet, so that you won't gag on the ones that you have to eat. Maybe it wasn't mom, but it was somebody. So... crummy day, did I mention? I'm on call, a voluntary thing, being nice to a co-worker. And, after she'd left for the day (but wait! The day went to shit at about 10:00 this morning!) it hit the fan in a big, big way. My main machine went down. And I was still four patients behind when this happened. And the ER was full. So I move the operation over to the back-up machine, which is on the other side of the hospital, unhandy as hell, and not stocked to run full-bore even with a full crew. And, additionally, the evening crew was short a tech or two. One of my old buddies stayed over to help, though. She's helped me through many a rough spot, and I've reciprocated frequently... it all works out. Unfortunately, several of the exams that I have to do require contrast injections... which means that a radiologist has to be on the premises. The one guy who would have normally stayed couldn't... his mother is dying in Wichita, so he had to leave. So, it was 20:00 before we got the mess cleared out. I got home about 20:30 and was thinking about making a sandwich when that phone rang. Back again. More computer troubles, the DICOM isn't shuffling exams back and forth the way it should, I have to do troubleshooting on that, figger out a micky mouse work-around. Leave again, this time I go to walgreens and pick up some scripts and return the wrist splint that I bought Wednesday, it was literally falling apart... rotten thread. Came home, finally *made* that sandwich and the phone rang again. I sat and ate it anyway, before I went back in. Had to do an assault victim and an eight-week-old baby, she got dropped on her head. So I'm home now, I hope for a while. The trouble with the main machine being down... is that nobody else knows how to run the backup except for us regulars... and I'm the only available regular this weekend. Yeah. O'yeah, I haven't seen Tyler today, he must still be in Lawrence....
