Last night I was awakened by the phone about 23:00... it was the guy that I was taking call for. He was just about to become a grandfather, and wanted to go to Emporia for the event, so he wanted me to take call for him until noon today. I naturally said "yes" and went back to sleep. Again, I was awakened by the phone... only it was 08:32... and it wasn't the hospital, it was a guy named John Weaver. John was reading the newspaper this morning, and saw my letter to the editor, and he thought that it was great and he wanted to tell me so. John is a democrat and a talker, we must've talked for fifteen minutes, and I was probably fully awake after five minutes... So I went back to sleep for a little while, and the hospital called about 09:15, I needed to go in and do some in-patients. I was there until about 12:15 and I finished up and came home. I heard from the other tech, he called right at noon. He now has another grandson, healthy as a horse. 20:30... It has been kinda threatening rain all day, but never did more than a few drops at a time. Now the cool front is past us and down into Oklahoma... looks like Mom is getting rained on right now. Anyway, it's cool and pleasant. Occasionally I go into my site and look at the last 300 hits... where they came from and where they go. I have noticed that I'm getting a lot of hits on my poems to Karen and I'm wondering if people are plagiarizing me... the hits are coming from search engines with "Anniversary Poem" and suchlike as the search strings. Not that that would be a bad thing, I think that it's kinda cool to have a guy giving his girl or wife one of my poems, even if he does claim to have written it. After all, she will eventually find out if he wrote it or not, women can sense if a guy has a poetic soul or if he's a poser. Well, that was silly, of course most women can't tell anything about a guy's honesty at all, or none of them would have anything to do with men at all. Anyway, it's neat that people read my stuff at all. And speaking of poetry....check out these and these! Now if I could find where Tyler puts his stuff up... nope, it isn't here... or even here. O'well, when he wants me to know, he'll tell me.
Karen and I just got back from Sams... got a few essentials, forgot the main thing that we went there after (the sugar substitute that comes in the blue packs), and I got something that I've been wanting for years and years... a Maglight flashlight set... The Genuine Heavy-duty flashlights. A three-D cell one, and a two-AA one. I don't know why I've waited so long.
