Nice day... got up kinda late, about 08:30 or so. Everyone went to bed pretty early, I was the last, about 22:30 last night. There were some major thunderstorms that rolled through early this morning but they just barely woke me up.
Karen came down about 09:00, and promptly sent me to McDonald's for breakfast... I got us each an egg & cheese & canadian bacon sandwich and two large cups of coffee.
After we ate, we generally sat around and talked until we got hungry again, about 12:30. This time we went out to Sirloin Stockade, one of Mom's favorite places... in fact, the *only* favorite place that she has that I know of.
After dinner, we went shopping... first to Lowes to get a string trimmer for Mom, after going to a local hardware store first and finding no selection and no help. We were also able to get a vacuum cleaner belt at Lowes... the old one was about ready to break, and the beater-bar was the problem, actually, but I WD-40ed it to get it working pretty well... it'll probably last another ten years or so.
Then to the grocery store and then home.
It has been thunderstorming off and on all day, but after supper the sun broke out in the west, and I went outside to see if I could spot a rainbow. Sure enough, there was a full one, so I yelled and Mom and Karen to come look. It was also partly doubled, which is always impressive.
The storms have all scooted off to the east, looks like all we're gonna get is light rain for a while, anyway.
I was just on the web briefly, and I see that JD has actually updated his journal! I didn't look to see if he'd put up any more art yet, I'll bet that he has. Go look, I would, but on a dial-up, and a slow one, I don't have the patience to see stuff that I've already seen in person. But don't let that stop you, I know that you haven't seen it yet. You might even want to buy some! Go look!
Karen and I will be heading back to Kansas tomorrow, she's getting lonesome for Lacee... I understand that completely, I'm getting lonesome for my home network connected via cable...
No, there really are things that need to be done at home, and I think that we need to go do them while we have the time. Or whatever.
