More rain today, and a few tornadoes in the area, too. A storm that just passed over is producing tornadoes north of Lawrence right now. We've had some rain and a little wind but nothing really interesting.
Today at work wasn't interesting either... I left early, just because I was getting bored. And I have time to give up, too. I was thinking about coming home and mowing the rest of the back yard, but I got a call shortly after I got home from my doc's office, wanting to know about my BP medicine. So I had to stay in and wait until they got back with me, which was just about the time Karen got home. I had checked my BP this morning at 09:30, and it was 212/100 with a pulse of 59. That is way too high, especially since I've just increased my BP meds. So I called my doc's office and left a voice-mail message... took 'em six hours to get back with me. I guess that if I was all that concerned I could've called them back. 210/110 right now. That's after I took tomorrow's BP doses at about 17:30.... So, obviously, I need to be doing something about that. One of the possibilities is that I've got a renal artery stenosis; that pushes adrenalin levels up which jacks up the BP. Another possibility is that I'm retaining fluid, although my salt consumption is really nil... I never use table salt. Yeah, of course, I'm too fat. And maybe diabetic, I don't know if there's any connection there... seems like it goes the other way, diabetic people develop hypertension, but I could be wrong about that too. Maybe they go hand-in-glove down that slippery slope.... Something is surely making me tired, too. And today it wasn't work. Maybe it was the work that I did last night, I'm not really used to physical labor, although I should get used to it. Karen had a headache when she got home, she took one of her pills and laid down for a while and she seems to be OK now. Those pills are wonderful, she used to get a migraine and it would last for two or three days.... 21:03... However, dead people aren't embarrassed. Good thing, too. Good night.
The weather has calmed down, Kansas City got pounded by hail/straight winds/flooding/massive lightning. The weather lady was saying, in essence, that you have to be pretty stupid to get killed in a flash flood, and I have to agree. Getting killed in a tornado or windstorm would not carry the stigma of driving through running water and drowning.
